Therefore, according to the findings and the literature, the consensus is that elevators have been used as a substitution for stairs. While it was an invention that enabled the development of tall buildings, it should not come at the expense of the user health. In this regard, building designers should put more emphasis on being stair-centric to create a preference for the use of stairs.
