Jackie was born in 1919 in Georgia and raised together with his siblings by their mother (Bibliography par. 5). He died on Oct 24, 1972. The story goes that, Jackie and his family were the only blacks in their neighborhood. In his early, he grew to experience racial discrimination and segregation. When Jackie joined UCLA, being an ardent athlete, he won himself letters of four sports, that is basketball, baseball, football, and track (Bibliography par. 7).

He became the first to win in such a row. However, later Jackie dropped out of school and joined the army (Bibliography par. 8). It is in the army that he also experienced racial segregation and tried to be defiant through his actions and opinions, but unfortunately, he was court marshaled and found guilty, then expelled from the army.

It is in 1944, after the army that Jackie began being a professional baseball career (History par. 3).  Jackie Robinson代写

During this time, Jackie could not play in the white leagues due to segregation, so he ended up in the Negro league. Later, after Branch Rickey saw his potential and extemporary performance, he selected Jackie to play for Brooklyn Dodgers in the bid to integrate the Major League Baseball (History par. 1).

However, his admission in the team had conditions. He was made to promise not to retaliate to the racist confrontation from the other players. This was a test of his humility, but he managed it all through to the pinnacle of being the star in Dodgers. He even faced racist sentiments from his colleague players, and the crowds used to jeer him, but he remained unmoved.

Despite all the racism humiliations and abuse, Jackie managed to be a champion and the first black athlete to play Major League Baseball in the 20th century. At the time of his history-making, some team was even refusing to play Dodgers, but Jackie was supported by his coach and other teammates to shine nevertheless. The prejudice and racial hate were put to rest when Jackie made the Dodgers the major League Champions by winning 197 with 12 home runs.

He was then awarded the National League’s most valuable player of the year. Subsequently, throughout his career in Dodgers, he helps the team win other awards with the ultimate winner of the World Series. Through his performance and being the best and famous player at that time, Jackie broke the shackles of color lines that had dominated baseball sports for the African American people.

After he retired from baseball career, he turned to be the civil right activist for equal rights in America.  Jackie Robinson代写

He served in the National Association for the Advancement for the Colored People (NAACP) until 1967 (Silipsis.com). Through the board, he was an African American athlete and a civil right, champion in both the social and political causes. He later saw the need for black people to have their bank which will be owned by the African American. Therefore Freedom Bank was born.

Throughout his activism, he corresponded with president Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon in the bid to have equal rights in American people (Silipsis.com). He also took part in the demonstrations like Youth March for Integrated Schools in Washington in 1958 and March on Washington for Jobs and freedom in 1963 the time when Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his speech of “I have a dream.”

In his quest for civil rights and freedom for the black people in America, he had written numerous letters to the administrations which were archived in the National Achieve and Records Administration (National Archive). The letters aimed at pushing for a social change to end racism. He aimed to call for acknowledgment that racism existed and it is hurting the black people. Through these letters, he acted as the voice for the African Americans. He also throws criticisms for slow integration n baseball by objecting at practices by Jim Crow.

Even after his death, Jackie’s contribution to the black people society continued to live on in America.  Jackie Robinson代写

His wife, Rachel, established Jackie Robinson Foundation in his honor to help the young people through mentorship and scholarships. He contributed to the war against the color barriers which elected in America and changed how black people were perceived as failures and therefore less equal to the whites (Jackie Robinson par. 1).

Jackie played a role of initiating a black freedom movement for civil rights in America. He played a pivotal role in leading black activism against racial segregation. Through his influence, he was able to write the president of the United States about the plight of the black people. Insight Gained  Jackie Robinson代写

The black people struggle for civil rights, and freedom began long ago, and the activism for civil rights and freedom came at a cost and individual sacrifices (Jackie Robinson par. 3). I learned that freedom does not come on a silver platter, but the man has to fight for it. In African American people, the key contributors to the black people freedom and rights were fearless, selfless, and passionate leaders whose primary goal was to redeem the liberty of the black people.
