COURSE POLICIES
? The UTSA Policies are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
? All assignments begin running on the first day of class. There are no make-up assignments available. Students who register on or after the first day of class will not be able to make up past due assignments. If a student drops the course (voluntarily or not) and is then re-enrolled will not be able to make up missed (e.g., past due) assignments.
? Assignment Submissions
o You must submit your assignments before the deadline, CDT (Central Daylight Time ? this means San Antonio time).
o If an assignment is due before 11:00 p.m. and you submit it at 11:00:00 p.m. (or 11:00:01 p.m.), then your assignment will be considered submitted late. You must submit your assignment before the deadline.
? Late assignments will not be graded (e.g., receive a zero, or effectively receive a grade of zero). There are no exceptions to this rule re submitting late assignments, including technology issues. Do not wait until the last minute to submit your assignments.
? Any assignments submitted must be substantive in context, which means upper-level undergraduate level work.
? Assignments and communications must be professional in quality, which includes formatting, appearance, grammar, punctuation, spelling and language (e.g., no profanity).
? Handwritten work, if any, will not be graded.
? All assignments are completed or submitted in the learning management system. Any assignment submissions that deviate from the instructions, without prior instructor approval, will not be graded (e.g., do not email assignments).
? Quiz Resets: There are no resets on any quizzes, and no excuses will be accepted.
? Posting of class material, assignments, lectures, etc. to any platform outside of this class in Blackboard Learn is prohibited.
? You are not allowed to use any platforms to communicate with the class at large, other than the discussion board for asking general course questions.
? Do not rely on the Total column in Blackboard to determine your grade; use the Course Schedule / Grade Outline to determine your grade in this class.
? My Excel spreadsheet at the end of the semester will be determinant of your final grade in this class, not the Blackboard grade book.
? Grading Issues: You must contact me within 24 hours via email re an assignment grading issue. If you do not contact me within 24 hours, then you waive your right to contest the assignment grade, and the assignment grade in Blackboard is final.
? Final grades are based on two decimal points (see below under Grades for more info), and there is no rounding.
? Grade Negotiation: I do not negotiate grades at the end of the semester. Any communication I receive at the end of the semester relating to a request to change a grade will either not receive a response or will receive the following response: “I do not negotiate grades.”

GRADES

? The final grade in this class is based on a 1,000 point total.
? To determine your final grade at the end of the semester, divide your total assignment grade by 1,000. For example, if your total assignment points are 899.50 points, then your grade would be: 899.50 / 1,000 = .8995 = 89.95 = B+
? There is no rounding or curving of grades. By way of example, 89.99 is a B+.
? Per the Course Policies, do not contact me at the end of and ask me to curve your grade (I do not negotiate grades at the end of the semester).
