Write a 7-8 page research paper that deals with the issue of terrorism. Examples of such topics include:
The history of a particular terrorist/insurgent group.
For example, you might look at the question of why a particular group emerged?
Why did the group choose a particular strategy?
What were the group’s grievances and demands?
What explains the success or failure of a particular terrorist strategy?
You may also look at government/state responses or the responses of international organizations to terrorism.
What factors explain the success or failure of a particular strategy adopted by a government to deal with terrorism?
Another area is the response of the international community to terrorism: why, for example, has it been so difficult for the international community to reach a common set of policies regarding international terrorism.
Your paper should include a bibliography that should include at least 4 scholarly sources (books and/or scholarly journals).
Examples of scholarly journals: International Security, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Foreign Affairs, American Political Science Review, Third World Quarterly, Middle East Politics, etc.). Many of these are available through JSTOR.
