Romeo and Juliet
My Verona: make up a scenario for a production of Romeo and Juliet, set in whatever historical, modern or made-up verison of Verona you can think of. It should have a potent sense of style, and provide a place that reveals Shakespeare’s play in a new and different way. Remember, you are not changing any of Shakespeare’s words, just the setting, clothes, sounds and ambience. It’s helpful if there is a naturally occuring rivalry of families you can point to. Remember the sword fights? What do they use for swords in your world? Be imaginative, and have fun.
